OrBayou City Art Colony Association

Established in 1972, the Art Colony Association (ACA) is a Texas nonprofit organization dedicated to producing high quality art festivals and events to provide financial support to local non-profit organizations. The ACA produces the Bayou City Art Festival Downtown and the Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park.

Geriatric Art Society

 A group of old guys that go on biannual painting trips. Our last trip was to Rockport, Texas. Our next trip will be to St. Francisville, Louisana in October, 2010.

PrideRock Wildlife Refuge is a safe haven for Big Cats that have been abused, abandoned, confiscated or that can no longer be properly cared for by their previous owners for whatever reason. The Refuge is located on 9 acres, thirty miles east of Dallas in Kaufman County, Texas. PrideRock is a non-profit corporation and a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt publicly supported organization. The Refuge is operated by Gary and Carol Holliman and is currently home to many lions, tigers, cougars, and wolf-dogs, as well as their own menagerie of family dogs.

Each bi-monthly issue of International Artist magazine takes you inside the studios of the world's best artists. The artists tell you the thought processes behind their creative methods and reveal their painting techniques. It is always full of beautiful and inspiring paintings and consistently provides articles about a variety of mediums. International Artist also publishes some of the best art instruction books on the market. For beginners, intermediate & professionals as well.

Also, International Artist sponsors six art competitions each year. I was honored to be a finalists in the 2010 “Still Life & Florals” competion. My painting, “The Yellow Lily,” is featured on page 14 of the Oct/Nov issue.

Founded in 1975, the Watercolor Art Society – Houston (WAS-H) is a non-profit organization with over 600 members. For over 35 years, WAS-H has brought the excitement of water-media to the greater Houston area with outstanding exhibitions, world-class instruction and dedicated community outreach. Year-round opportunities are provided to every level of painter, from novice to the seasoned expert. Art lovers can also enjoy year-round exhibitions in the gallery in the Museum District. The building address is 1601 West Alabama.

The Irving Art Association (IAA)hosts an annual juried Wildlife Art Show every October at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts in Irving,Texas. Established in 1956, the IAA is one of the oldest cultural organizations in Irving and is conservator of the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, a two-gallery building nestled in a park setting with flowers, trees, shrubbery, and a duck pond. In November 2003 the hippo sculptures created by David Iles for the Irving Art Association were dedicated and donated to the City of Irving.
