In Big Bend National Park on the Green Gulch Road that goes up into the Chisos Mountains, you will be treated to this view on the left. There is a legend from the Spanish colonial days that they had a gold mine somewhere up in these peaks. For me my gold mine there is the wonderful Lost Mine Trail that goes up to the top of these peaks. It is a hard climb, but worth every step. Be sure to have a walking stick with you, especially for when you start down the trail.
