My wife, Corinne, and I just returned from a quick weekend trip to Galveston, Texas. As usual, I get up about an hour before sunrise and try to be at Affel Park on the East end of the island to watch the sunrise and hopefully get some photos to use for paintings. The first morning was a dud. It was cold, windy and cloudy. It stayed that way all day. When I got up this morning, it looked the same, but I went on down there just in case. As I was driving up the clouds began to part. I only had a minute to get my camera ready and in position. What a thrill it is to me to witness a scene such as this. Moments like this keeps me going.
