Bighorn Rams in the San
I love to drive slowly down remote country roads. Just above walking speed is just about right. I suppose I get this from my dad. He was famous for driving real slow in his pick-up truck, constantly stalling the engine, over a ranch road looking at the deer, javalinas, coyotes, the birds, the cattle, the grass, the tracks in the road, the tracks going under the fence, and the rattlesnakes.
Like him, I want to be going slow enough to be able to instantly stop when I come around a bend and there is something really interesting such as a bunch of Big Horns Rams, as in this painting.
These rams have come down off the mountain to water at the creek on the other side of the road and are now going back up the mountain. If we will be still and quite, they probably won’t run. |
